Mandala

For this project, I created an image on a small piece of paper and then transcribed it onto a larger piece of paper. Even though this was a tedious project, it turned out great.

Tornado

This is a paper mache sculpture of a tornado. I didn't paint the tornado itself because I wanted it to look chaotic. In the end, I think it worked out really well.

Broken Glass

This was an interesting project. The final product ended up being very different from the original sketch. There was not supposed to be a chip in the glass, but mistakes happen. Overall, I think it turned out great, even if it didn't turn out like I expected it to.

Bas Relief Sculpture

I really enjoyed working on this project. To make sure all the pieces fit together, I drew their shapes out on the board and numbered them. In the end, the whole thing ended up fitting together like a puzzle.

Art Critique

This is a painting called the A Miracle of Nature. It was painted by Thomas Moran. This painting includes what looks like a canyon with mountains in the background. The peaks of the mountains are hidden by clouds. It also looks like there is a small river at the bottom of the canyon.

It appears that this artist used a warm color scheme to mimic sun light shining on the mountains. He also included the outlines of the mountains in the clouds. He also includes a lot of shading. It’s hard to see the river at the bottom of the canyon due to this artists shading, which makes the painting a lot more lifelike.

I think this artwork is meant to show the pure beauty of nature. This artist recognizes that some sights take your breath away, in a good way. This painting makes you wonder if it’s a miracle that something as simple as a canyon and a few mountains can be so beautiful, hence the title.

I really like this painting. While it’s partly because I just love views like this, it’s mostly because he made this painting so realistic. It looks like this was a picture taken by a camera, maybe with a filter thrown in. It reminds me that sights like this don’t just exist in pictures.

Dream Board

This was one of my favorite projects because I got to work with Photoshop. Overall, I think this project turned out really good.
